Fast-track security screening

To avoid long lines when traveling, you may want to consider the Global Entry and TSA Precheck programs. Both offer expedited service to help you navigate through the airport faster.

Global Entry
It is administered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and allows pre-approved, low-risk travelers to obtain expedited clearance when they arrive in the United States. This program is available to U.S. citizens, legal residents and permanent residents, and is intended for individuals departing the country at least four times a year, airline personnel and business travelers. There is a fee of USD100.00 for a 5-year registration. You can apply online.

Once your application is reviewed, you will be contacted to schedule an interview at one of the enrollment centers. Upon approval of your enrollment in the program, you will enter the United States using automated kiosks located in the passport control area.

Global Entry kiosks
- Slide your passport into the reader and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once your information is displayed, remove your passport and face the camera.
- Press four fingers of each hand on the scanner and answer the customs declaration questions.
- Tap NEXT and answer YES or NO in the pop-up window.
- Confirm or enter new flight information.
- Take your receipt and follow the instructions.
- If there is an X on the receipt, you must show it to the passport control officer in the booth nearest the kiosk.

TSA Precheck
You must be a member of a trusted traveler program such as Global Entry. This expedited security screening program is available through participating airlines and airports. Members of this program are not required to remove shoes, jackets, belts or laptops to pass through security screening. Children under the age of 12 may join a parent/guardian in the dedicated lanes. Visit TSA Precheck to learn how to qualify for the program.
