Taxi at MIA Airport

Official taxi service from the airport to the Miami area

Taxi stands are located on the lower level (Arrivals), outside the baggage claim areas. Available 24 hours a day, with bilingual staff (English and Spanish). Minibuses are also available for groups. Taxis are yellow.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended to reject offers from strangers who are often inside the terminal, in the Arrivals area. Many of them do not have a license or insurance, nor are they authorized by the airport to offer the service. Make sure to only use taxi services at designated stands located on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area, where you will find airport staff members wearing identification cards.

Flat rates have been eliminated, so currently, transfer prices are established through taximeters. The minimum fare for trips originating from the airport or the Port of Miami is USD15.00, which also have a surcharge of USD2.00. For larger vehicles, a 30% surcharge is added to the taximeter fare.

- First 1/6 of a mile: USD2.95
- Each additional 1/6 of a mile up to the first mile: USD0.85
- Each additional 1/6 of a mile thereafter: USD0.55
- Each minute of waiting: USD0.40
- Each hour of waiting: USD24.00

Private transportation services through apps like Uber or Lyft pick up passengers on the Arrivals level, outside doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, 15, 20, and 23. The fare to the city center is USD30.00-50.00, depending on the type of vehicle you choose.
